I finished shooting lesson #4 for the On The Path iPad app. Should be coming out soon. Then I will start editing the lesson I shot with Leland Sklar & Russell Kunkel.

My song "3:35 Coming Through", (which plays when you open this website) just won Best Americana/Roots song at the HOLLYWOOD MUSIC IN MEDIA AWARDS. Very cool, I was totally caught off guard, next time I'll prepare a little something to say!! A BIG part of what makes this song sound so good is the insanely great band on the track: drums, Steve Ferrone / bass, Leland Sklar / keys, Benmont Tench, Peter Adams / percussion, Debra Dobkin / guitars, Robben Ford, Buzzy Feiten / backing vocals, Gia Ciambotti / Dobro & vocals, me /

I just returned from Joshua Tree where I performed at the Bhaktifest festival with STEVE ROSS. A terrific event, close to 4,000 people. This week is an exciting NTMC at Genghis Cohen with the great TOM FREUND, GIA CIAMBOTTI, and a spectacular. house band.

The Far West Folk Alliance in Irvine CA was a blast. Got to play with many terrific artists and see many more. Had a terrific show with Dan Navarro in Renee Bodie's room, with Kenny Edwards & Amilia Spicer sitting in, as well as other cool shows with Mark Goldberg and Tracy Newman.
I had the great honor of recording a new piece written by Ravi Shankar and conducted by his daughter Anoushka. This was for a documentary being filmed by my friend Alan Kozlowski, in which we captured the creative process of teaching the music, all the way to the concert at Hollywood Bowl.
Back from very succesful shows with Jennifer Warnes. We also got to fill in for David Lindley at Vancouver Island Musicfest, then hang out with him at Ottawa Bluesfest. Great trip.

On WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26th, I have the real pleasure of being joined by the magnificent guitarist and my great friend JEFF PEVAR. We have played together for over 20 years, and aside from his work with CS&N, Rickee Lee Jones, Ray Charles, Joe Cocker and many others, he is the only musician who has played on every record I have ever made. Jeff is featured prominently on my new IMMERGENT RECORDS CD, which will be released later this spring. We always have a great time playing, please join us next Wednesday for a beautiful sunset, excellent food and some great music.
